Edith Stein was born in to a German Jewish family in 1891.In 1922 she was baptized and in time entered a Discalced Carmelite Convent, taking the name Sister (Now Saint) Teresia Benedicta of the Trinity. She was killed in the gad chamber at Auschwitz                                 1942.
