   and 

justice 

O 

 God,

  are 

   the 

     foundations of your throne___________

“One of the features of the Christian faith” writes Richard Floyd in a 2009 blog post about CS Lewis, 

“is what theologians call ‘the scandal of particularity.’ Rather than put forth a general philosophy of re-

ligious truth or a set of axioms the Christian faith 

tells a story…”  As does this magnificent picture ion  

the front page of this morning's  San Diego Union-

 Tribune showing not “the homeless” but one par-

ticular, named, homeless person and the cost of 

homelessness, whether in San Diego or refugees 

awaiting asylum or those in the the Gaza strip.  

Some would dismiss that as  “woke ” but we 

call it mature, human, Christian. 

Sunday evening

The 

Lord 

grants 

his loving-

kindness 

in the day- 

time; in the 

night season

his song is with 

me, a prayer to the God of my life.

      So teach us to number our days

             that we may apply our * to wisdom.
