Keep watch dear Lord, 

with those who work or watch or weep this night, and give your angel’s charge over those who sleep. Tend 

the sick, Lord Christ, give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, shield the joyous, and all for your love’s sake. Amen.

A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat

so that they were already

 being swamp-ed. But Jesus was in the stern asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing? “ He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea,“Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased and there was a dead calm. He said to them “Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?”
