* Richard Bishop of

Dear Lord, of thee
three things I pray:
To see thee more clearly,
Love thee more dearly,
                                    Follow thee more dearly.

            _____________________Psalm 133:1,4

Oh, how good and plea-sant
it is when bro-
thers and sisters live together in unity. It is like the dew that falls upon the hills…

*James DeKoven,
    1831-1879
American born priest & professor
of ecclesiastical history at Nashota
House,an Epsicoapl Semianry in
Wisconsin . Because of what we
used to call his “high church”
leanings consent was not given
 consent to his becoming  bishop
of Wisconsin in 1874 and of Illinois
in 1875.  At the General Convention
in 1874, he said “You may take
away from us, if you will, every
external ceremony; you may
take away altars…lights and
incense and vestments; … and we will sub-
mit to you. But gentleman,* … to adore
Christ’s Person in the his Sacrament…
is the inalienable right of and privilege of every Christian and Catholic heart. How
we do it, the way we do it, the ceremonies with which we do it, are utterly, utterly in-different. The things itself is what we
plead for.” which I love because it embodies the Anglican ideal: in essentials, unity, in non-essentials, diversity and
in all things, charity, which takes us full circle back to the verse. God does good work. *and "gentlemen" it was! Women were  not allowed to be seated  as delegated until 1970, almost 100 years later!  1970 my friends!!
The           vote           in the House of Bishops was a una-nimous yes and the lay House of Delegates had only one no vote.
(Imagine that guy’s reception at home that night!)
