The Feast of St Patrick d. 461

                                  Psalm  118:5

I called 
to the 
Lord 
in my 
distress; 
the Lord 
answered 
by setting 
me free. 

Patrick , the great patron saint of Ireland, was born in Roman Britain. He was kidnapped  as a child & taken to Ireland where he was forced into servitude as a shepherd. He was able to escape and he returned home. He studied for the priesthood & later returned to Ireland as a Bishop, a shepherd of souls. 

The psalm was as true for him as it is for us.
