Today we give thanks for our heritage, enshrined in the first Book of Common Prayer, that amazing compendium of public and private prayer and praise for absolutely any occasion, emotion or circumstance, which came into use on the Day of Pentecost, 1549 and from which is descended every BCP in the Anglican Communion. Also on this day we remember Justin, Martyr at Rome, 167.
