(Monday, March 13, 2017) Today I'm picking up Gregory the Great, Bishop of Rome, (604) (aka Pope) Gregorian chant is named for him, and he was the first to be called “Servant of the Servants of God." Gregory sent Augustine of Canterbury to Britain. Augustine became the first Archbishop of Canterbury; today the See is occupied by Justin Welby.

                                                             Jeremiah 1: 11

The
word
of the
Lord
came
to me
saying“What do you see?”
And I said “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
Then he Lord said to me, "You have seen well”

Gregory the Great’s feast day is March 12 in the East  and in the Episcopal  Church which is he day of his death, the day traditionally celebrated  for Christian saints. On the Roman calendar he is commemorated on September 3, the day he became Pope, which seems not to fit as well for this Follower
of Christ.
