preserve what you right hand has planted.

                              The point of vines is fruit: grapes! 

It’s a wonderful day - the 60th anniversary of my Confirmation. (How can THAT be!?) At that time 
in the 1928 BCP, what the Bishop prayed as he
laid his hands on my head, hands that go
back to Jesus, which is pretty much a
s as it is today witout the
Elizabethan flourish: 

                                        Defend O Lord, this thy Child 
                                    with thy heavenly grace; that 
                                she may continue thine for ever, 
                             and daily increase in thy Holy Spirit 
                           more and more until she come to 
                        everlasting life.   

                                                 And so far, so good.
