Saturday, toward evening

                                     Psalm 23:1,2b, 3a
The
Lord
is my
shep-
herd,
shall
not
want.
He leads me beside still waters, he revives my soul
   Behold. Be strengthened. Be changed.

Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles

                                                                   Psalm 66:3

All
the earth bows down before you, sings
to you, sings out your Name.

Nothing is known about these two followers of Jesus except their names. According to legend they were both martyred on the same day in Persia. It’s ironic, given the dearth of any information at all, that St Jude has become known as the patron of hopeless causes.

Prayers are suggested for the obscure, the forgotten and the unknown who work for the kingdom of God. For holiness of life. And for faithfulness to our Baptismal promise to “continue in the apostle’s teach-ing, in the breaking of bread and in the prayers.” (BCP Pg 305)

Evening Prayer

                                                                                                      Psalm 94:19

When many cares fill my mind, your consolations cheer my soul.

Tuesday, another take

Worship the Lord
in the beauty of  holiness:

                Come, let us adore him.

The antiphon on the Venite at Morning Prayer
in Ordinary (day in, day out) time.
                     In the Celtic tradition,
the wild goose is a symbol of the
Holy Spirit, wild and free...

Tuesday

In the morning, Lord,
you hear
my voice;
early in the morning
I make my appeal and watch for you.
                            Psalm 5:3
                          I remember using this verse
once and Bill wrote back: "I hope not TOO early!"
