On this day in 1977, Janani Luwun, the Anglican Archbishop of Uganda, born circha 1922, was murdered by then president Idi Amin, whose reign was far from one of righteousness. Also on this date in 1940 Richard of Lief was born!

The 500th celebration of the birth of the amazing Carmelite, Teresa of Avila (1515-1582) Mystic, Author and Renewer of the Church, recognized by Roman Catholics as a Doctor of the Church, one of 2 women so recognized. (I see she even has a twitter account!)
