Saturday, a day of rest

The Venite (Psalm 95)

     in God’s 

     hand 

     are the 

     caverns 

     of the 

     earth 

     and the 

     heights 

     of the hills are his also

In Prayer Book spirituality Friday is a day of remembrance of the crucifixion and death of Jesus, and Sunday is always a celebration of the Resurrection.  Saturday is set aside as a  time to remember that God rested after his work of Creation . All 3 collects at Morning Prayer reflect this. There is an old Latin saying, Lex orandi, lex credendi -if you want to see what we believe,  look at what we say in prayer.

May the God 

of hope fill you
