Saturday, the weekly reminder that even GOD had to top and rest!

  Luke 11:10

everyone
who asks
receives, &
everyone
who seeks
finds,&
for everyone who knocks
the door will be opened.

I was reminded yesterday that AA’s 11th Step, improving our conscious contact with the God through the twin tools of prayer and meditation, beings with the word Sought.  The focus is not so much on the goal as in the seeking…   I have a whole picture file of doors and windows… in fact this blog was supposed to be entitled Doors and Windows but it was already taken I guess…. So I have Many doors to choose from, SO many - old ones, new ones, pretty ones. ones with bikes in front, one in Amsterdam  which I really like from my river trip with Dad and Sally that has a window reflecting the sky and clouds which, if youBut I chose this one because it doesn’t even show the door, just the steps up to it… Sometimes the seeking starts without even being able tho see the door….

Friday night

                                    Ecclesiasticus 11:2,3

Do
not
praise
individuals
for their good looks, or loathe anyone
because of appearance alone. The bee is
small among flying creatures, but what it
produces is the best of sweet things.

                                  Psalm 31:6

Weep-ing
may
spend
the
night,
but joy comes in the morning.

Thursday heading toward evening

     Based on Psalm 37:25

 if we
stumble,
we shall
not fall
headlong,
for the Lord
holds us by the hand.

Thursday

                          Psalm 37:3

     Put
     your
     trust
     in the
     Lord
     and
     do
     good;
     dwell
     in the land
     and feed on its riches.

Wednesday Evening

                                        A Prayer in the Evening

O God, you mani-fest in your serv-ants the signs of your presence;
send upon us the spirit of love,
that in companionship with one
another your abounding grace may
                                     increase among us…

Today we remember Henry Martyn, 1781- 1812, Episcopal priest, and the first English missionary in India and Persia, who translated both the Scriptures and The Prayer Book into Hindi and Persian. (How do you spell indefatigable?)

  Psalm 38:15a

in
you
Lord,
have

fixed
my
hope

Inspire in us a love like his,
            eager
            to
            commit
            both
            life
            and
            talents
            to
            you
            who
            gave
            them
