___________Zechariah 8:16,17
These
are
the
things
that
you
shall
do:
speak the truth to onet another,
render in your gates judg-
ments that are true and make
for peace, Do not devise evil in
your hearts against one another,
and love no false oath, for all these
are the things I hate, says the Lord.

At first I was going to skip over today’s saint... who cares? But I am glad that I did't gibve in to my basest impulse. Because it turns out I care - as a Christian, as a woman and as an American in today’s world. (Imagine! ) The theme Converting and being converted! - and I didn’t get it until the very last thing I read and it's too good to have missed! The very Last piece I got, as I was looking for a second graphic for her, was that she was born in CHarloteville, Va! ANd I laughed out loud!
Check this out from Holy Women, Holy Men:
“At first she kept herself aloof from the Chinese, thinking them her cultural inferiors. Over time, however, she found a deep respect for Chinese culture, adopting not only their language but their dress and customs. As she wrote, “It is comparatively easy to give oneself to mission work, but it is not easy to give one-self to an alien people. Yet the latter is much better and truer work than the former.”
