It is reassuring to me that it seems that even Jesus, fully human as he was, had to be reminded. Cut to the chase. It’s all about love. Only love. He was maybe hot and cranky and people were just not getting it- as we still don’t today a good portion of the time. But a Dad’s heart brought him up short, back to basics and refocused him. Save the blah blah blah. Just do the do as they say. As did our frreind

By tradition,  a Roman official demanded information of Lawrence about the churches treasures;  in  reply, Lawrence assembled the sick &the poor, for wheom he was responsible,  telling him “these are the treasures of the church.” He is believed to of been barbecued alive, hence the people, the gridiron and the flames in the  iconography here.
