                                                    St Francis, 

generally shown with with birds and an-

imals,  has become the patron saint of 

climate care. Which is wonderful and en-

tirely appropriate. But it also becomes ap-

propriated and we forget or conveniently 

ignore that  what was primary. paramount and overriding was his love of God,  which was the font from which all else flowed.   And that’s how I ended up with this image 

of Francis in his monk’s robe and the stigmata.

                Grant that we 
                walking in the way 
                of the cross, may find 
                it none other than the way
