                                                       The original quotation uses the pronoun they/their but I think the change for this use would be more than acceptable to the Author. :)

Pray for scholars who preserve and pass on the heritage of learning, for integrity of character  of students and teachers and for those who revise, expand, enrich and improve the church’s liturgy.

clergy and laity alike.
