The Venite*
= a canticle used every morning for tens of hundreds of years throughout the wold in monastic communities and in the Episcopal Church at the beginning of Morning Prayer. Canticles are, with 2 notable exceptions (The Gloria and the Te Deum,) potions of scripture used in the prayers of the church - in this case its a portion of Psalm 95 . (Episcopalians drive Roman Catholics crazy by calling it the Veh-nighty whereas it is properly the vven-y-tay. I THINK!)
