Psalm 89:1a,2a
Your
love,O
Lord
for ever
will
I sing,
for I am persuaded that
your love is established for ever.
Today we celebrate
Gregory of Nazianzus
(329–389), who became Patriarch of Constan-tinople. He was one of the Cappadocian Fa-thers, so called because they were all from the Cappadocia region of modern day Turkey, along with Basil the Great, (330–379), Bishop of Caesarea; and Basil's younger brother Greg-ory of Nyssa (c.332–395), who was bishop of Nyssa, to whose august company the Lutherans add their sister Marcina, Monas-tic Teacher, (327-385) and celebrates them all as a group on June 14). We celebrate them individually.
“God always remains greater than anything we can know of him.”
