An Easter antiphon on Psalm 87
All my fresh springs
are in you, hallelujah.
are in you, hallelujah.
I'm celebrating Dame Julian of Norwich today.
Her feast is tomorrow because she was really im-
portant in my life.
The Lady Julian was a 14th cen-tury English anchoress who lived in a room or anchorhold attached to the church in Norwich, With one window into the church, and the other onto the town square, she was far from solitary although
she lived alone (with her cat.)
She lived at at the time of the Black Death, and yet spoke of God with intimacy and certitude, tenderness and compassion. She knew that "in giving us you self you give us all.” Collect
Thanks for sharing this, Weez. Dame Julian must have been a force to be reckoned with in the 14th century for sure.
