Evening of the Ascension

                        ________________________Ephesians 1:17-18_

  

      I pray 

    that the 

       God 

     of our 

      Lord 

     Jesus

    Christ, 

          the 

          Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom 

       and revelation as you come to know him so that, 

    with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may

 know what is the hope to which he has called you...

 Well, we have an em-

barrassment of riches,

 because if it  weren’t 

Ascension, we’d be 

celebrating First Even-

song of the Visitation 

of Mary to her cousin 

Elizabeth. Which is quite 

wonderful really because 

we have the end meeting 

up  with the  beginning….  

Mary waiting with Elizabeth, having been filled with 

the the Holy Spirit and newly pregnant. And now wa-

iting again, this time with the disciples for the promise 

of the Father,  her Son’ Spirit to descend  and make

them them  Church, his Body on earth, and to fill the 

whole world.                         

                                                  Come, Hoty Spirit, 

                                  fill the hearts of all  who

                             wait and kindle in us the 

                      fire of  your  love.
