Friday moving into evening

                   ______John 6:58______________

       This
       is
       the
       bread
       that
       came
       down from heaven______________

Somehow it's gotten to be the last day of March! Today we remember John Donne, English Priest and Poet, 1572-1631, author of the poem For Whom the Bell Tolls. (spoiler alert: it’s for you.)

                            _Psalm 102:19-20___

           the
           Lord
           looked
           down
           from
           his
           holy
           place
           on
           high;
           from
           the heavens
           he beheld the earth;
           That he might hear the
           groan of the captive, and
           free those condemned to die

 -------Almighty God,
 Open our eyes
to see that  what-
ever has being is
a mirror in which
 we may behold you
Collect------------------------

We think that Paradise and
Calvarie, Christ’s Crosse + Adam’s
tree, stood in one place; Look, Lord +

first Adam’s sweat

Wednesday evening

                    ___John 6:35_______

     Jesus
     said
     to
     them,
     “I Am the bread of life…"

____write these words on your heart_______

Today, on this day when Brexit officially begins, we remember John Keble (1792-1866) an English priest and author of a cycle of poetry called The Christian Year, one of which is the lovely hymn “New every morning is the love. In 1833 he sparked the Oxford Movement which “sought to return the church to it ancient sacramental heritage.”

                            Psalm 101:2

will
stri-
-ve
to
fol-
low
blame
-less
cour-
se;
I will walk with
sincerity
of heart within my house.

May we accomplish
with integrity and
courage what you
give us to do, and
endure what you
give us to bear.
    - Collect

New every morning is the love
our wakening and uprising prove;
through sleep and darkness safely brought,
restored to life and power and thought.

New mercies, each returning day,
around us hover while we pray;
new perils past, new sins forgiven,
new thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven.

If on our daily course our mind
be set to hallow all we find,
new treasures still, of countless price,
God will provide for sacrifice.

Old friends, old scenes, will lovelier be,
as more of heaven in each we see;
some softening gleam of love and prayer
shall dawn on every cross and care.

The trivial round, the common task,
will furnish all we ought to ask:
room to deny ourselves; a road
to bring us daily nearer God.

Only, O Lord, in thy dear love,
fit us for perfect rest above;
and help us, this and every day,
to live more nearly as we pray.
