“His
name
is John.”
              * The Nativity of
                       John the Baptist.

This tiny but important phrase
 illustrates how we Still tend
to think about and treat people
with disabilities,oh, and wonen
The angel made Zechariah mute
through-out Elizabeth’s pregnancy.
When the child is born, Elizabeth
tells them that the childs name is
John. WHAT??? Noone in the family
is named John! So they go t othe
huusband (of course!)  and ask him.
Remember -he is mute, not deaf.
Nevertheless they don’t just ASK
him, they motion to him...
He writes   "His "name i"s John."
Full stop. It’s easy to miss!
                                      "And immediately

                          his mouth was opened
                          and his tongue was freed
                          and he begn to speak,
                          praising God."
