                  The Acts of the Apostles 4:33,34

            With 

            great 

            power 

              the

         apostles 

            gave 

            their 

       testimony 

           to the 

      resurrection of the Lord Jesus, 

        and great grace was upon them all. 

 *Barnabas, (June 11) a nickname meaning “son of encouragement” (his given name was Joseph,) was 

a Jewish convert from Cyprus, 

where by tradi-

tion he was  martyred in 61 CE. He is called an Apostle in Acts though not  

ranked as one of  The Twelve,  he is traditionally  identified as the foun-

der of the Cypriot Orthodox Church.
