Aurelius Augustinus (354-430) was born in North Africa. His mother Monica raised him to be a Christian, but it didn't take..... Years later, discovering that he was powerless and his life was unmanageable, he turned his will and life over to the care of God as he understood him. We know him today as St Augustine, Bishop of Hippo.
