a morning hymn*
Now that the daylight fills
the sky, we lift our hearts to
God on high,
that He in all
we do or say,
would keep
us free from harm this day.
*by Anselm, bishop of Milan 397
Wonderful memories of early mornings in the chapel at St Mary's Santa Barbara and the Sisters of the Holy Nativity flooded back when I opened the drapes and
saw the morning reflected in my study door, and the words of this early morning hymn again
sang themselves in my soul..
We shall not cease from exploration
and the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started
and to know the place for the first time.
