The Nativity of the BVM, otherwise known as the birthday of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The commemoration began in the East, probably in the 5th century in Jerusalem. It's only one of 3 birthdays celebrated by the Church, along with that of John the Baptist and Jesus Himself. (All of which is true and wonderful but that's on the 8th and today is only the 6th... Oops.)
Psalm 31:4
Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who trust in the Lord.
