with
God
and
be
at
peace
Context is everything. This sound like a straightforward truth and it is, but in context it is
kind of ironic, because it is spoken to Job by Eliphaz the Tamenite, another idiot mouthing platitudes
about God to a person in pain. Job does not want answers, but a relationship. God does not need
you to make excuses for him.
In that vein, I pass along some overheard wisdom from Rabbi Kushner -
when someone is in pain or difficulty or distress or grief, “Show up and shut up.”
…may we take our place
in working for the nurture
& well-being of all society,
undaunted by prejudice or
adversity …and participate
in… the work of
building up the
human family
in Christ,
