Today we celebrate 2 of the first African American Bishops in the Episcopal Church.

in him” ought to walk just as he walked. 

Today the Episcopal Church remembers Edward Thomas Demby (1869- 1957) & Henry Beard Delamy (1858-1928) two of the first African American Bishops in a very segregated church and society.

Debby responded: Hooray for these wonderful men, who have been long joined by African-American women, too! Indeed! And if I listen carefully I can still hear the inimitable Mary Eunice’s high pitched southern twang saying "We are called to BE like Jesus, not to pee like him!"
