Today the church remembers The Dorchester Chaplains who went down with their ship in WWII

                                                        Genesis 22:8
 Isaac said
 to his father
 Abraham,
“Father!"
 And he said,
 "Here I am,
 my son."
 He said
"The fire and
 the wood
 are here,
but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"
 Abraham said, "God himself
will provide the lamb for a burnt
offering, my son.” So the two of
                  them walked on together.

The USS
Dorchester,
a troop carrier,
was torpedoed by
a German U Boat in  1943. Aboard were 4 chaplains, Methodist, Jewish, Reformed Dutch & Roman Catholic . Having given their life vests to save the lives of others aboard, they “remained on the aft deck, arms linked
in prayer, until the ship sank.
