Today we remember Edward Thomas Denby, (1869-1957) and Henry Beard Delaney (1858-1928) the first black bishops in the US Episcopal Church.

                Psalm 37:3


Put 
your 
trust  
in the 
Lord 
and do good; 
dwell in the land 
and feed on it's riches.

Though  ‘only’  “Bishops Suffragan for Colored Work” in their various (segregated) southern dioceses, 
being a Bishop is like being  pregnant - if ya are, ya are,)  it was a first big step on the long road that has resulted in our Presiding Bishop of today, Michael Curry.
But the work continues, as the shameful spectacle of the presidential campaign demonstrates.  But the first lines of the psalm are ‘Do not get yourself because of evildoers….”
