Little is known outside the Gos-pels themselves about Phillip and James except that they were Apos-tles and witnes-ses, like us, fol-lowers of Jesus, The VERSE is said by Philip to Nathaniel after HIS call which I think is instructive here. The fig tree image comes up later in the reading when Jesus is atlaking to Nathaniel: John 1: 47-50
