St Philip, First century Deacon and Evangelist

                                                                          Psalm 142:3a

When my spirit languishes within me you know my path

The story about Philip is found, appropriately, in The Acts of the Apostles (6:1-6, 8:40) I love the story about him being sent to “a wilderness road,” (he must have wondered what in the World he was doing there!) coming upon the Ethiopian, explaining the scriptural passage to him and finally baptizing him, all at the man’s request. My favorite part of the story is that after Philip did what he was called to do, immediately “when the Ethiopian came out of the water “(right after being baptized ) “the Spirt of the Lord snatched Philip away; the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. But Philip found himself at Azostus, and as he was passing through the region, he proclaimed the good news to all the towns until he came to Caesarea.”  God has work for us to do, work that he chooses . He's in charge . And whether He’s sending us somewhere,  we know not why, or whether we’re on our way to some destination, as we go , by both word and deed, and attitude , we proclaim the good news as we go, and lives are changed.
