From the Google Doodle, no less, is Anna Atkins, born this day in 1799 (d.1871) A British botanist and photographer, she published the first book to be illustrated with photographs alone.

This print was produced without the use of a camera with a printing process called Cynotype, or blue print, one of the oldest surviving printing  processes which results in this knockout blue tone. The process was widely used
well into the last 20th century to produce technical drawings or -drum roll please!  - blueprints!
