Today is an astrological trifecta: The Spring Equinox, when day and night are of approximately equal length, the single solar eclipse of the year (though not visible anywhere in the US) amd a Supermoon, when a full or new moon (new this time) coincides with perigee, the moon’s closest point to earth in its orbit.*

                                Canticle 14

only too wellTherefore I make this prayer to youfor you are at
the God of those who repent
and in me you will show
forth your goodness
             in me

March Equinox in San Diego, California, U.S.A. is on

Friday, March 20, 2015 at 3:45 PM PDT “ The spring equinox is one of only two days of the year when all places on Earth (outside the polar regions) see the sun rise at due east and set at due west along the horizon. With neither hemisphere tilted away from or toward the sun, all latitudes get approx-imately 12 hours of daylight and darkness”
       * This is actually in relevant to us as people traveling toward Easter since, “Easter Day is always the Sunday after the full moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox, a date which is fixed in accordance with an ancient. Ecclesiastical computation, and which does not always correspond to the astronomical equinox. This Fullmoon may happen on any date between March 21 and April 18 inclusive. If the full moon falls on a Sunday, Easter Day is this Sunday following. But Easter day cannot be earlier than March 22 or later than April 25." (Book of Common  Prayer page 880)    .
